AfricaScope completed two reports for the Royal bafokeng Nation (RBN). The first was on a Population and Use of Land Audit (PULA). This project involved mapping the all buildings in the area, defining the land use and counting all the people living within the formal villages of the RBN. A questionnaire was completed for all households in the area and extensive information collected on the poipulation. One of the main purposes of this study was to get a handle onb the number of people living in the RBN.
A socio-economic and health survey was also conducted among 650 households in the RBN. The survey allowed more indepth information on the people of the area to be collected, including HIV prevalence. Africascope analysed the data and a report on the two studies was published. The results of the two studies will enable the RBN to develop its strategic focus into the future.
