- Database development and implementation
- Capturing spatial data from various sources and formats (Scanning and Data typing)
- Image Processing of the spatial database of SA Demographics Estimates
- Analysing spatial data
- Researching the location of South African shopping centres and retail outlets using the internet
- Editing and manipulating spatial databases
- Map production
- Updating spatial database
- Creating metadata
- Performing quality assessments
