Crime profiles

An innovative new product showing crime statistics at a police station level for South Africa.

Members of AfricaScope have been integrally involved in capturing the police station boundaries for South Africa and linking crime statistics to them since 1998. In 2010 AfricaScope has developed an atlas of crime at a police station level using statistics going back as far as 1994. The crime statistics will also be accessible through web mapping technologies and can be accessed as a GIS dataset. It is our intention to look at opportunities to develop similar products for other African countries.
